Data deletion
You can stop Social Media Connector accessing an account, and have the data we hold from it deleted, at any time. There are three ways to do it.
1. Disconnect the account in the CRM
- Sign in to your CRM workspace.
- Open Settings → Integrations.
- Find the account (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Gmail or Outlook).
- Select Disconnect and confirm.
We then delete the access token, stop accessing that account, and delete the data we synced from it. For Google accounts we also revoke our access at Google.
2. Remove access at the provider
You can also remove Social Media Connector from the account itself:
| Provider | Where to remove access |
|---|---|
| Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites) → Social Media Connector → Remove | |
| Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → Social Media Connector → Remove | |
| TikTok | Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions → Social Media Connector → Remove access |
| Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services → Social Media Connector → Remove | |
| myaccount.google.com/connections → Social Media Connector → Delete all connections | |
| Microsoft | account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access (personal accounts) or myapps.microsoft.com (work accounts) |
Removing access at the provider stops us reaching the account straight away. To have the data we already hold deleted as well, also disconnect in the CRM or send us a request as described below.
3. Ask us to delete your data
Email support@thenetwork.co.nz with the subject "Data deletion request" and tell us:
- the email address of your CRM account;
- which connected account the request is about (or "all of my data");
- the name or ID of that account, so we can find it.
We may ask you to confirm that you own the account. We confirm the request within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- The access tokens for the connected account.
- Profile details, pages, posts, comments, messages, ad data, email, labels and calendar events we synced from the account.
- If you ask for all of your data: your CRM user account and its personal details.
What may be kept
- Records that belong to your organisation's CRM workspace, such as emails linked to a contact's timeline and invoices or leads you chose to import. Your organisation can delete these, and they are deleted when the organisation's account is deleted.
- Records we must keep by law, for example tax records.
- Backups, which are overwritten within 30 days.
Deleting data from Social Media Connector does not delete anything from the connected account itself. Posts you published stay on the platform until you remove them there.
More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
